VAKR is the core methodology of Value Architecture — a technology-independent, domain-independent framework for designing the conditions in which value emerges. Derived from systems theory, cybernetics, organizational sociology and empirical observation, its core thesis holds: value is not intrinsic to objects. It emerges from the interaction of Context, Perception, Action and Outcome.
At its heart is the PARVO cycle — Perception (how value is seen), Action (what is done), Result (what outcomes occur), Value (how outcomes are assessed) and Observation (feedback that reshapes context). Chapter 01 grounds the cycle philosophically, challenging Aristotle's intrinsic/instrumental value dichotomy and drawing on Korzybski's general semantics and a systems-first methodology.
Every construct carries an operational measurement. Stakeholder perception is scored as W_perception on a normalized 0.0–1.0 scale, and value is only recognized above the 0.448 threshold — below it, well-intentioned interventions actively destroy value. Pattern Fidelity (≥ 95%), Context Convergence and the Ethical Scalability Score (≥ 0.8) turn value creation from a matter of opinion into a diagnostic, repeatable discipline.
The book builds its mathematical architecture in layers: seven value emergence principles (Ch02), eight axiomatic principles and seven fundamental laws (Ch04–05), six derived theorems and five core models (Ch06–07) — then four canonical patterns, six practices and five methods (Ch08–10), governed across four reference architectures by the Value Governance Framework (RA-IND-001).
The framework stays universal by design. Separation into Value Logic, Implementation and Measurement layers makes it technology-independent; abstraction across Ontology, Metric, Pattern and Method makes it domain-independent. A Cross-Domain Translation Framework — Context Mapping, Perception Harmonization, Action Adaptation, Outcome Validation — moves patterns between sectors without losing fidelity.
Value emerges when interventions align directly with stakeholder perception — W_perception is designed for, never gamed.
Patterns transfer only when adapted to the receiving context; recognition emerges as context factors converge.
Interventions are shaped by stakeholder evidence and refined cycle over cycle, with Pattern Fidelity held at or above 95%.
Complementary patterns activate across domains, producing value that exceeds the sum of individual contributions.
VAKR is positioned as a complement, not a replacement, for established frameworks such as TOGAF — principle-based and value-explicit, where they are process-oriented and value-implicit. Practitioners certify through four levels:
Wₚ ≥ 0.448 for at least one stakeholder group.
Consistent application across three or more stakeholder groups, with Pattern Fidelity ≥ 95%.
Cross-domain synthesis with emergent value exceeding individual contributions by ≥ 30%.
Institutionalized, self-sustaining value emergence — Wₚ ≥ 0.75, ESS ≥ 0.8, 21-day habit formation achieved.
